Process visualization and machine operation on touchscreen PC

When a certain automation level is reached, it is no longer possible to cover all functions by simple elements on the control desk.

From this level and up, the control desk contains a MS Windows touchscreen PC, which gives the operator access to the various functions through a corresponding menu. For example, the access to required values (rotational speed, positions of process units etc) of the machine segments or to a survey of the central lubrication unit of the machine are given exclusively through the machine visualization.

The registration is done with user ident and a password, as usual on an MS computer. This login allows to assign various user rights. Maintenance staff has different, possibly more extensive access rights than the operating staff. It is also imaginable that a normal operator can only modify a small part of the settings, while a supervisor can enter completely new settings for a new product.

All relevant process data such as temperature curves can also be visualized. Machine settings can be filed and uploaded, shift and cycle reports can be established, e.g. for the documentation of the ongoing production or for the recording of malfunction times for production optimization.

These data can then be filed in a Windows system and can later be retrieved from the control desk and printed on an optional printer.
